Brandon Johnson was born November 27, 1980 in the east Texas cotton-town, Greenville. He began playing seriously with his Back Porch Band while studying International Business and Marketing during his tenure at Baylor University in Waco, TX. Brandon has found a comfortable home in the Alternative-Country/Roots-Rock genre, and is described by Texas Music Theater Radio personality Gary Barton as having "a soulful voice." "[Brandon] is a terrific songwriter!" he says. After two smaller B-level releases (Self-titled-2001 and A Long Time Coming-2003), Brandon recruited industry renowned producers Steven Collins (Deadman) and Pete Coatney (Jack Ingram's Beat Up Ford Band) in 2004 and began recording his first A-level major project. Brandon Johnson's SCREAM was released January 14, 2005 and attempts to explore new sonic boundaries while still showcasing the intense imagery and powerful depictions found in his writing. An all-original composition, SCREAM's songs are as colorful as its name. Everyone can find a piece of himself or herself on SCREAM. And ranging from mood-treated ballads like Rebound and October Prayer to powerful, stadium-filled anthems like Breakdown and Little Sister, Brandon has not only been able to capture the sincere human emotion illustrated in his music, but has also succeeded in demonstrating his versatility in composition and arrangement. By constantly pacing the road between roots rock and country, Brandon has created an Alt-country sound mounted somewhere between Gram Parsons and The Rolling Stones.

Songs like "Scream", and "Rebound", are the types of tunes that make people famous. Well-done Brandon, I have enjoyed the album and am eager to her your next piece of work. Good luck, kid!

Not bad... but belongs in alt-rock or nashville rock country...most of the songs have something to do with a broken heart or experiences similar...I hear the Jack Ingram influence, but it lacks experience... I felt the songs were cloudy and raspy, with an electrical kick from somewhere in the back of the room... I fear this young man has veered too far from the texas country road and its hard to classify the work the artist did, therefore, making it difficult to listen to over and over again...great potential for songwriting, pop in an old Pat Green CD or a Chris Knight track and then let the writing begin... Not going to give up on Mr. Johnson yet...

Brandon Johnson rocks my world!
Brandon's debut: Scream is a must have for any music lover. He is an amazing songwriter and an even better human being. It's refeshing to meet a new singer/songwriter who has a firm head on his shoulders and who is as down to earth as they come, unlike some of these other "Texas Artists", but that is neither here nor there. Make sure to buy 2 copies of Scream, because you will tempted to pass the first one on to a peer music lover. Enjoy.
