If momentum is any indicator, 2006 is sure to be a breakout year for Texas Singer-Songwriter, Jamie Talbert and his hot country band. For the past three years, Talbert has been honing his songwriting and performance skills around Texas as an acoustic solo performer. Along the way, he has made an impressive list of friends, opening shows for the likes of Cross Canadian Ragweed, Jason Boland and The Stragglers, Roger Creager, Honeybrowne, Don Williams and countless others. During Super Bowl Bash 2004, he even shared a stage with the Red Rocker himself, Sammy Hagar.
In 2004, not only did he share the stage with fellow Texas songwriter, Phil Pritchett, but also Pritchett signed on to produce Talbert’s debut CD, scheduled for release in Spring 2005. Backed by Pritchett’s band, the CD will properly introduce Talbert’s considerable song crafting skills to fans of Texas music everywhere, wherever they may be. Featuring crowd favorites, “Tequila and Tracy” and “Dialing While Intoxicated” among many other future classics, the CD showcases Talbert’s fun loving and serious sides, while never compromising the honesty of the song. Watching the expanding crowds at his shows, there is no doubt he is connecting and hitting the mark with the audience.
With his CD in the can, Jamie focused on recruiting the hottest players he could find for his band. In short order, he recruited a crack band of musicians featuring former Mark Chesnutt guitarist, David Lott; veteran Scott McGill drummer, Vinny Montalbano; veteran Texas honky-tonk bassist, Stephen “Doc” Watson and 4th generation Texas musician, lead guitarist, Steven Huelsman. After much woodshedding and a CD that just came out, Jamie Talbert and his band are now taking on the world. Do yourself a favor and catch his show soon. You’ll get to say, you saw him when.
