Keith Norris grew up in a music loving family in Magnolia, Texas, just outside of Houston. "One of my fondest childhood memories is riding in the back seat and listening to my mom and dad singing together as we went for a country drive; everything from Hank, Sr., to Dean Martin." Through babysitters, cousins, and music lessons, he was also introduced to Elvis Presley, Texas Swing, and a wide variety of classical music. Keith describes his own musical style as "modern traditional; not quite honky-tonk, but darn near it, and certainly real country!" At age 13, he started a garage band called C.C.Express. "After I cut up my fingers three or four times trying to learn guitar, I thought, 'this is stupid', and I decided to play drums." He did eventually master the guitar though, as well as the piano, saxophone, drums, bass and clarinet! C.C.Express played VFW halls and community picnics, and eventually landed a spot on the local television show, 2 Country Kids World. Keith became an accomplished singer and entertainer as he took charge of auditioning and hiring the musicians for his band, selecting and co-writing the songs, arranging the music, and acting as its lead singer, guitarist and keyboardist. His musical guidance led them to wins in several band competitions. Meanwhile, Keith was also garnering performing honors as a solo entertainer, with wins in several local talent contests. He was named both Musician of the Year and Entertainer of the Year by the Texas Opry. He performed at the Olympic Festival Games in Houston and was featured on the Spirit of Texas Show on KPRC-TV in Houston. After graduating from Texas A&M University, where he studied Business Analysis, Keith's passion for music drew him to Nashville. Since arriving, he has appeared on the ETC Country Radio Show, the WSM Opry Star Spotlight show, and KSUX 107.5 FM's New Music Spotlight radio segment. He has also been a featured performer at the Nashville Country Showcase, the Vince Gill WSM 95.5 Listener Appreciation Concert, and has played the General Jackson Showboat. Keith's current album, titled Along For The Ride, which he co-produced with Wayne Tester, includes several songs that he co-wrote, including Cry, Cry Again (chosen by mp3.com as a country Cream Of The Crop Selection), and Viento, Mi Amigo (ranked the #1 Chart Spot in its genre on mp3.com). He recently added producing to his credits with an independent album that he produced for country singer, Lonnie Spiker. Keith is now working on his upcoming album. One of the songs he recorded for that project, Two Step Program, has been pre-released as a radio single and recently hit #11 on the Texas Progressive Country Charts! He is currently receiving regular airplay on TwangCast.com and several other radio and internet programs. Keith's fan base continues to grow as more and more radio stations, including many Best In TexasTM Reporting Stations, are adding Two Step Program to their playlists!

this is a great album and singer. I bought both and I admire his talent. I think his range is fine...ok he might not yodel, but hey I pat my foot.

Good production but no soul. To polished with not much of a vocal range. Songs don't jump out at you. The only ones that do are not written by the artist.

It only took one listen, and I was back on a Texas dance floor...with a pretty blond...ready to dance until closing time. Reminiscent of early Strait, Keith's music has that wonderful combination of honky-tonk edge and real life depth. A great CD to keep on hand when you get tired of the slick, thin, and schmaltzy offerings that top 40 country has become."

I agree with the previous reviewer: extremely COOL is an understatement. The new album "DEUCE" is out now, too -- with "Too Cool For Horses" and "Hurt Me All The Time" on it. I just can't decide which of the 15 new songs is my favorite!

Keith's music is really extremely cool. This was one of the best albums I've ever bought - period. I've also been hearing his new song TOO COOL FOR HORSES on radio now lately, and I hear another album is due out in May 2003. Can't wait. Prime cuts: "Viento, Mi Amigo", "Cry Cry Again", "Burnin Your Bridges At Both Ends".
