I'm glad to see someone else listing to Mark Murphey. I saw the guy this year in Grapevine doing a show with Terri Hendrix and Lloyd Maines and he was just great. From talking with him off stage and then watching the show, it truly was a "you get what you see" thing. He was so personable and had the audience from the get go. If you have not heard this guy, you should!!!!!!!!!!!

Mark Murphey has a beautiful, smooth voice combined with a great talent for putting some fine words on paper. While I like the entire album, That's Who I Am and Oklahoma Pride are my favorites. Mark identifies well with "listening audiences." It seems there are a lot of us in those audiences that can identify with That's Who I Am.

I own Mark’s record label so my opinion of "That’s Who I Am" is biased. I have know Mark since he was in kindergarten and have worked with him for the last 10 years; writing songs and talking about this CD. We worked for about a year narrowing our song list down to about 25 tunes. Producer Lloyd Maines made the cut down to the 12 we recorded (9 original and 3 covers). We had some of the best musicians in the business: Lloyd Maines, Glenn Fukunaga, Mike McAdoo, Paul Pearcy, Riley Osbourne, and Terri Hendrix. When we added Marks “smooth and honest” country voice, the result was one of the best albums I’ve heard in years.
