Miss Leslie and Her Juke-Jointers play honky tonk country music with a 50s and 60s flair. This group is creating buzz with their music they describe as “Country music with a hardwood floor sound”. Combining original material along with obscure country tunes that they have unearthed from the 50s and 60s, the band opens up new sounds in a retro honky-tonk setting. Leslie Lindley sings a gutsy, belting lead that has been compared to the likes of Patsy Cline, Leona Williams and Connie Smith. The band’s stage show features a real upright piano, pedal steel guitar, fiddle, small drum kit and a twangy Telecaster reminiscent of the Don Rich sound. While Miss Leslie & Her Juke-Jointers are a relatively new group on the scene, the band has played professionally with nationally touring acts. Ricky Davis played with Dale Watson for several years and is the steel player on most of Dale’s recordings. He also played with Gary P Nunn, Pat Green, Cory Morrow and Asleep at the Wheel. For more about Ricky, check out Mighty Fine Music. Randy Lindley, who plays electric guitar, has played and recorded with The Coleman Brothers, The Sullivan Family, Bill Grant and Delia Bell, Rebel Records’ David Davis & the Warrior River Boys, and Rebel Records’ Karl Shiflett and the Big Country Show. Miss Leslie & Her Juke-Jointers were nominated for Houston Press Music Awards in 2004 and 2005. In 2006, the group received the following Houston Press Music Awards nominations: Best C&W Band, Local Musician of the Year, Best LP (Honky Tonk Revival), Best Female Vocalist, and Best Guitarist (Randy Lindley). In 2005, they were nominated for Best Original Band in the Houston Chronicle’s Ultimate Houston Awards. The band was also a top music pick in 2005 for the Houston Chronicle’s Handstamp Blog. And “Honky Tonk Revival” was voted Best Debut Album of 2005 by the FAR Chart’s, FAR and Away picks. Original tunes mainly come from Miss Leslie. Jake Jenkins, who wrote most of the material for Rebel Records' Karl Shiflett and the Big Country Show when he toured with them, also wrote most of the songs on the "Honky Tonk Revival" CD.

Saw Mrs Leslie @ the Finish Line, in Aledo, last Saturday night. She and her band are as real as Dale Watson. Check her out in a dance venue (a club with a dance floor), you won't be dissappointed. Looking forward to hearing the next cd.

My wife and I saw Miss Leslie @ Pearl's (it's in Cowtown). She and several local female country artist, played a benefit for breast cancer. Had a blast, danced the day and night away. Looking forward to seeing her again with another honky-tonker Heather Myles in March. For all you country fans who just go to the concerts and music festivals, you are missing out. These artist honed thier craft in bars, saloons, and honky-tonks, with hardwood floors. Get up off your butt and get to a local club, grab a shooter and a longneck, and get on the dance floor.

I used to play Honky Tonk and Rockabilly when I was younger, but none of my bands were this good. I bought the CD at a release party in Houston and love it! Thanks Leslie for putting Country in Country Music again.

Great, Wonderful, Awesome,Oh my gosh, I don't even have the words to say how much I enjoy this group. I have not been able to find a REAL country, I'm talkin 2 steppin dance to every song they play, band in the Houston area for what seams like forever. What a fantastic suprise to hear this music wafting across the air one day while walking around the rodeo grounds last March. I have been a fan and go to see them as often as I can ever since. Steel Guitar, Fiddle, Piano, Guitar, and Drums this band has top of the line musicians that can make you get get lost in their sound. Standing in front of them all is one of the best Honky-Tonk voices around. Make it a point to go see Miss Leslie, you will not be sorry!!!

I love this album. I can remember this style of Country music while growing up in Sherman, Texas during the 60's. It's so nostalgic.

I saw Miss Leslie & Her Juke-Jointers at Traders Village in Houston. What a fun group. It reminded me of the old Opry when I was growning up. Can't wait for my CD to come.
