The Notorious Gringos band formed in 2007 with a collection of musicians from various musical backgrounds who shared a Texas connection (either from there, work there, family is there, heartis there, or been thrown out of there). Since the members brought with them the influences of their former styles of music (country, rock, bluegrass, and beach music), the sound that they created was uniquely their own. The rough and often unpolished edge of Texas rock blends with a bluegrass chop, a polished- cool bluesy guitar, and smart/ engaging lyrics creating a heavy reverb alt-country rock with just the right amount of twang. Performing from Cape Fear to Northern Minnesota, from The Devil's Backbone Tavern to Southern Georgia, the band believes you earn your fans one fan at a time. In March of 2009, the band traveled to Fort Worth, Texas to cut our debut album Wrong Side of Good. Texas singer/ songwriter Phil Pritchett produced, engineered, and arranged the record at Trinidad World Recording. The result is the true Texas sound that Phil Pritchett is famous for.

Texas chick
I had a different experience than the earlier reviewer. There were a ton of young people there who really liked there sound, including myself. They were alot of fun, a band that engages the crowd..I'll (we'll) go see them again for sure!

Made a special trip to Carolina Beach to hear the Gringos play. I had heard really good things. Sorry to say that I was dissappointed. Not to mention, I was the youngest woman in the audience by a solid 10 years. Better name for the band...the Notorious Cougars (to be named after their audience members). If you are looking for a group of middle age guys and a room for of divorcees swooning over them, singing about being drunk like college boys...this is your group! Otherwise, save your money!

Huge fan of Rockabilly, but this just misses the mark. I was really hoping these guys would be better. I always like to find new stuff. I read the other reviews and got my hopes up - must have been mothers of the band members!!!!!

Amazing first record for these guys. I bought this cd last month and can't stop playing it. The texas influence in their music puts me right at Gruene Hall in the hill country. Great Texas rock from a band living in coastal North Carolina.
