Borrowing their name from the first settlers to receive land grants as part of Stephen F. Austin’s first colonial contract in Mexican Texas, Old 300 creates their own brand of "Americana" music. Lead singer, Cheatham Street product and the band's primary songwriter, Bisbey's lyrics at times seem to be influenced as much by Ryan Adams and Rhett Miller as they are by folk-country stalwarts Bruce Robison and Slaid Cleaves. Still, the band can get in the groove and produce high voltage rock n roll with some of the best upcoming groups on the Central Texas scene. Accomplished multi-instrumentalist Lyle Mauricio provides the lead instrumentation with blistering guitar riffs and smooth saxophone work. What's a band without a good rhythm section? Javi Aguilar and Moose Duvall hold down the drums and bass, respectfully, and lay the foundation for the band's music to stand on. The band released their debut EP of 4 songs entitled, "Tea Farm Sessions" in May of 2013. The meager-budgeted project was recorded at Tea Farm Studios in Austin, Texas in April of 2012 and was co-produced with Jared Marshall. It is available for purchase on Itunes as well as at live shows. - See more at: http://www.old300music.com/the_band/#sthash.IO2wC8Aa.dpuf
