Whooooaaaa. These guys have really got it going on. Their live show was sort of like Pink Floyd meets Led Zeppelin. The singer was all into this Robert Plant impersonation and the drummer was POUNDING like Black Sabbath or something, and the guitar player was going bananas, throwing off these insane riffs while these smoke bombs were going off and all of these swirly colored lights were happening. My girlfriend thought they were trying a little too hard but hey, it was totally original. There was a part where the guitarist was doing a solo and all the rest of the band were kneeling in front of him, pointing at him. It was hard to tell if they were serious. Needless to say I bought the album and it was INCREDIBLE and I havent taken it out of my CD player yet. It is sort of like Zeppelin's "Kashmir" meets Tom T. Hall. AWESOME!

"This Texas Jam band hails from East Texas and has recently released a selftitled CD that has some great jamming and grooving. Post Oak’s music can only be described as a cross between the Grateful Dead and The Marshall Tucker Band with some Stones and Beatles mixed into a black water stew of serious music. The CD contains 13 tracks from the band and includes some great country, R&B, and classic rock all on the same record. Post Oak’s coolness is their ability to groove in and out of different styles without leaving a listener behind. Jam bands are always fun but consistency is usually hard to pull off. Post Oak Savannah is good enough to pull it off and pull it off well. The record and the band are well worth checking out." - K. Howerton of Texas Music Times

"What an amazing breath...a deep, deep breath, of fresh air." "The lyric listener will be drawn in and find depth and darkness themes throughout most of their songs. There are many clever usages of words bearing “double meanings”. It’s not a raunchy CD, but it’s adult, definitely not for the Radio Disney or “the life is perfect” crowd. These boys are writing some hard core therapy/creativity, no doubt." "What I do know is that this CD is a must have. It’s this band that could catch the right break, and actually become a part of music history, and you could be one like myself to say 'I knew them when…..' The Wind has finally Changed Directions in Texas Awesome! Post Oak Savannah masters the raw sound of southern rock and can elegantly harmonize with the best of them. I am so relevied to have found a band, especially based in Texas, that puts out the sounds that I want to hear and not some copy cat "Texas Sound". They have revived the sounds of; The Allman Bros., Marshall Tucker Band, Blackfoot, etc. I salute you, Post Oak Savannah, Godspeed!!

When I first received the CD, I kept trying to figure out who it reminded me of musically....Allman Brothers, Marshall Tucker Band, Black Crowes, etc.....Then I decided to stop thinking about it and just enjoy the music. It hasn't left the CD player in my truck since. Great work guys, and I'll be looking for the next installment from Post Oak Savannah.

The creativeness shown in the writing and musicianship exhibited on this album is ambrosia to the ears. When listening to the album the continuity in the songs flows extremely well. The mix reveals each of the instruments without losing any of the signal intensity and without hiding some really excellent vocals. A must buy for anyone looking to get in on the ground floor with a great band.

I don't think I can put it any better than Gentle Ben. Great songs, GREAT guitar work, great guys. Don't classify this band as Texas Country, they're much, much more than that. From Midnight Dreamers to Jasmine Grove, there's something in this cd for everybody regardless of what kind of music your preffer. Highly recommended

Real music played buy real musicians on real instruments. Not overly compressed. Good solid song writing. You can tell this was not pieced together in a computer. What a breath of fresh air! If you don't care for one song just wait, the next one will be different. Takes some big nads to get out of the cookie cutter mold like these guys have!! This CD is a must for roots rockers.
