by Sylvia in Texas 11/23/2006 Ray Wylie Hubbard... YOUR BAND "IS" "IS" "IS" HOTTER THAN A ROCKET !!!!! I LOVE THIS CD.
I'm Crazy over Ray!!! I'm only a bit younger than Ray Wylie Hubbard, and just discovered him ... much to my delight.
Both GROWL & SNAKE FARM have lyrics that make you "think", and a beat that is "a hint" behind in step and "hooks you" from the first second you hear it,as well as a gritty tone with unusual spacing of words, almost a "run on" sentence followed by one that is short clipped . All together this makes for a unique sound that is difficult to put in any category. Yes, blues, rock, and country folk, but more; something no one can match to the genius of RWH. I play these two CD's in my truck every day to and from work. I can't hear them enough, as they never get old.
I've bought two other CD's of RWH's but they just don't have the same gritty sound and lyrics as SNAKEFARM And GROWL. They are too mellow and smooth to grab you. Ray...keep the sound you have in SNAKEFARM & GROWL coming, you bring so much happiness to our lives through your music and gifted wit.
I hope to see you at a gig someday.
