by amy 12/23/2003 i met max several years back in mansfield, texas. he had just released 'comfort in the curves'. i love that album! then he released 'wide afternoon' and it was awesome as well (although, i prefered 'comfort'...)! max's voice, lyrics, style---everything are awesome! and i don't even like country music!! 8-)
by DUCK 2/3/2003 If you like acoustic based story songs, then COMFORT IN THE CURVES is the ONE. In this day and age it is hard to find any cd of any kind that has 12 killer cuts on it. This one does. Any one of them could be a top hit. Max is my favorite of all the Texas Honky Tonkers. Get the word out, he is great.
by Michael Maham 4/25/2002 This is a great cd. Max has a fantastic gift for songwriting. Mockingbird and Sparks tell great tales.
His songs have more substance to them than a lot of other current Texas acts. What I mean is they actually go past the drinkin' and dancin' bar doors and take you out into the real world.
