In an attempt to bring more recognition to the excellent music being put out by artists in the Texas and Red Dirt music scenes, for the first time ever, we will hold the inaugural LoneStarMusic awards.

To choose those who have been nominated, we selected over thirty experts working on a day-to-day basis in Texas and Red Dirt music and asked them to submit up to five potential nominations per category from albums released in 2008. The category of Best Live Act could include any artist they saw in 2008. They've made their selections and now the rest is up to you.

In an attempt to reduce “voter fraud” we are making the ballots limited. Each issue of the magazine contains one official ballot. No photocopies will be accepted. In addition, each person who is a subscriber to the LoneStarMusic e-newsletter will be emailed one ballot tied to their email address at some point during the month of February.

If you are using the ballot included in the magazine, you may either mail it to our store at 1243 Gruene Road New Braunfels, TX 78130 or, if you are in the area, drop it by the store in person. All ballots must be received (or postmarked) by midnight on February 28th .
