Mile by Mile is how Honeybrowne has gained its large, loyal, and growing fan base over the years. Mile by Mile also happens to be the title of the bands fourth studio release on Smith Music. Strong songwriting, edgy musicianship, and availability to their fans made, and have kept, Honeybrowne a staple in the regional Texas Music circuit for ten + years. Mile by Mile, produced by one of Austin's best, Mark Addison (Bob Schneider, Ian Moore, The Summer Wardrobe, etc.), is a must have for music lovers who dig roots-rock, americana, and alt-country sounds, and will undoubtedly help Honeybrowne continue its reign atop the Texas Music scene. Fresh off tour, supporting fan favorite Something To Believe In, released in late 2005, Honeybrowne took some personal time off to welcome two new additions to the clan. Lead singer and songsmith, Fred Andrews, and drummer Stephen Bres both had baby boys in the past year, inspiring them to pen the heart-felt "Personal Lullaby", one of ten tracks off of Mile by Mile. Other stand out tracks include the upbeat tune "Yesterday's News", and the laid back and Wilco-esque sounds of "Help Me Find My Way".

I went to Midnight Rodeo last weekend. These guys were there and put on one hell of a show. I've never seen the band before and I really enjoyed myself. I will be seeing this band again. Hopefully soon.

Vinny The Shark
The next Ragweed? Who said that, and what were they smoking? Sorry, but unlike others around here, Vinny is honest. Honeybrowne goes down as one of the most boring bands he's seen or heard in a long time. Vinny was looking forward to seeing these guys too, because he had heard some good things about them. The show at the Wormy Dog two weeks ago was a snoozefest. Vinny hasn't seen the Wormy that quiet ever. The most entertaining moment was watching the WNBA fans dancing to the Greg Kihn Band cover song. The opening band, The Charlie Shafter Band, was pretty good, but Honeybrowne? Come on. Maybe it was on an off nite, who knows? But they need to pick it up tenfold the next time they play the Wormy.

I caught Honeybrowne for the second time last month in Tomball at Gary's Spot. The guys put on an excellent show. I am trying to find some info on their opening act. The band was called Ragtop and to be honest with you, they actually put on a better show than Honeybrowne. I saw them one other time at the Catfish Festival in Conroe. Can anyone help me in finding more info. on these guys? Thanks

I hadn't ever heard of Honeybrowne until I heard the song Texas Angle--WOW. Now I have all of their CD's and absolutely love them. I can't wait to see them live. You guys are great and have awesome voices.

This Austin-based band's first release for Compadre (their third studio effort overall) finds a sweet spot between alt.country and alt.pop. With both roots and rock influences drawn from outside the mainstream, one is hesitant to saddle this with a "country-rock" tag on the off-chance it would indicate made-palatable-for-mainstream-radio crossover. But highly palatable it is, with plenty of first-spin melodic ear-appeal that should garner a fair share of Americana and college radio spins. The band's country basics reside more in the songs' folksy-directness than overt twang, with electric guitars on the mid-tempo numbers that range into propulsive power-pop. The album's ballads are mixed with alternapop, netting out to equal parts Connells, Replacements, Delevantes, and REM -- a mix that's apparently what singer/songwriter/guitarist Fred Andrews has long had in mind. Andrews' songs exhibit a streak of spiritual faith, including the messianic images of "Something to Believe In" and belief of "I'm Here." Snapshots of roadside flower sellers ("8 Roses") and high school nights of summer abandon ("Never Forget You") are nice additions to more typical songs of relationships that have been torn-up, traded-in, and on occasion, revived. The protective "This Time" and "Tonight" close the album with the sort of optimism that rolls winningly throughout this album. [©2006 redtunictroll at hotmail dot com]

HONEYBROWNE is easily said to be the next Cross Canadian Ragweed. (Big, I know!) Their music is incredible and amazingly enhanced by their intelligent choise of lyrics. If you've never listened to this band, you have to listen to "TEXAS ANGEL"(Incredible song). If you love 'em...SPREAD THE HONEY!!!

I just got the new cd and I can't get enough of it. It sounds like nothing I have heard before. With all the Texas music starting to sound so much the same, it is really good to hear something fresh and new. I highly recommend the new honeybrowne cd.
