Known as one of the best guitar players in the Texas music scene, Keith Davis has been on the road as a sideman for many well known Texas artists, such as Kevin Fowler, Django Walker, Larry Joe Taylor, Brandon Rhyder, as well as many others. In December of 2006, this six-year veteran knew the time had come to step out of the sidelines and into the spotlight. The Keith Davis Band has now been touring with a full schedule since January 2007, and things are sure to pick up even more with the release of his new album, Answered Prayer. Produced by Grammy Nominated Mack Damon and mastered by Grammy Award winning Greg Calbi, this much anticipated album is released just a little over a year after the his first record, Sideman Blues. Keith’s debut single “Make It Up To You” off the new album was released to radio in June 2007, and immediately made its mark on the Texas Music Charts. “Keith Davis has been the voice in the background for far too long. Keith finally steps into the spotlight with a new album and if his first single Make It Up To You is any indication, the Texas music scene will gladly welcome Keith into that spotlight. This song just screams ‘PLAY ME!’ Just hope your competition doesn't play it before you do!” Chuck Taylor - Host/Owner The Official Texas Countdown - APD/MD The Ranch Radio Group The live show is packed with intensity and raw energy driven by passion and the desire to take Texas Music somewhere new for the listener. “People quickly find the stage area when Keith Davis is on it. He works his rear off during his live show. I love his sound and presence. He has such charisma and you can tell he loves what he is doing. It is contagious... Keith Davis is a must see show!” - Helen Linley, KMKS, Bay City, TX

Keith will always be a welcomed change in Texas country. Over and over do you hear the songs by all of our favorites without guitar solos however if you go to some Brandon Rhyder concerts that are full band and you hear back roads, you hear Keith playing an amazing solo that moves his fingers everywhere on the fretboard and beyond them having to drop tune the guitar toward the end of his fretbaord fireworks. This man is flat out amazing on his beautiful telecaster at any show you will ever hear him playing lead guitar at. Now I've babbled on and on about Keith's amazing ability on the battle axe. I decided to pick up his CD Sideman Blues at one of Brandon's concerts. I put it in expecting mind blowing slide solos (which I love him for). Instead I was blown away by the song writing skills, the vocals, the instrumentation, the engineering behind the sound, and even the astonoshing picture on the album cover. Keith flat out though I would love to listen to him play with Brandon and see Brandon get into the Grand Ole Opry and watch Keith play next to him, Keith flat out, undeniably deserves more. This guy is just amazing. Brandon always says that his songs are from the heart and they truly truly are. He has also said that if you give me any album and let me listen to it I can tell you which song touches the artist more above the others. You can not do that on Keiths album. Every song on the album is undoubtedly 110% from the depths of Keith's very soul. The song writing skills rival any of our greatest. The vocals blow me away. The guitar makes me smile because I'm a guitarist and am happy to hear the things he incorporates into his music that could have been done more simply but he gives it the extra push. I began liking Keith for his guitar ability and right away realized that God gave him a talent that few have. I however had no idea that when he dies, God will not have to give him the voice of an Angel to sing in God's choir for eternity Mr. Keith Davis already retains that ability.

I had to work all day on Saturday, so I decided to put Keith's CD into the player and see what it had to say. It's always a hard thing when you buy a CD from a guy at a show, and he says "Let me know what you think." What if it sucks, ya know? Not a problem with Keith's "Sideman Blues". I hadn't heard any of Keith's solo stuff, had only seen him playing guitar with Brandon Rhyder, so I wasn't sure what to expect. I was taken in immediately from the first strains of his deeper, full voice, quite a pleasant contrast to our beloved nasally, higher-pitched Texas favorites. While bluesy in feel, the record is optimistic in tone, proclaiming triumphantly from the start (perhaps prematurely?) that "come hell or high water, this is gonna be a great day!" There is a huge benefit to listening to a CD and hearing all the songs for the very first time -- there's no programming to battle when trying to pick out your favorites. My impression after the first time through was that the standout is "Leave Tonight", a song about starting over that feels the musically satisfying to me, along with "Miles' Song (Sideman Blues)", a simple lullaby from the road, presumedly written for his son (assuming he has a son), and "Anyplace But Here", the only song to feature all the members of Brandon Rhyder's band, but with Keith on lead vocal and Brandon on backup. But, hell, you know what? I'm on the sixth (yes SIXTH, and I doubt it'll be the last) listen now, and I'm not so sure what the best songs are any more. I'm now leaning toward "Miles' Song" and "Rich Man", perhaps because those two songs are Keith and an acoustic guitar and I'm a minimalist by nature, but the reality is that the record is a definite front-to-backer. There are no weak tracks. Regrardless of which songs end up as my favorites, one thing is readily apparent: Keith pours his heart out in each and every one. The record is at times cheerful, sad, lonely, and apologetic, but, regardless of the emotion, the sound is always soulful. If you've never had a chance to meet Keith -- or even if you know him well -- you should give this record a listen. You'll be sure to discover something about human spirit, and certainly about Keith Davis, that you never knew before. And you'll be better for it.

Keith Davis has been playing on the Texas Music circuit for a long time. He is able to say that he has played with many outstanding performers. With his first solo album, he shows us why it won't be long before these outstanding performers will be the ones who are able to say that they played with him... This album is addictive. It is the kind of solid songwriting that helped build the foundation for what music in Texas is today. Many have lost touch with many of the fundamental elements that define Texas as a musical power. Keith has a way of bringing back the blues, rock, folk, jazz and country that are sometimes thin in the works of his peers. If you don't know who he is now, you will soon. This "sideman" will soon lose his "blues" and break through as one of Texas' premier acts. Be one of the fans who has followed him from the start. Be a part of something big. One day, you will be able to tell your children what it was like in the beginning.

Great CD! Unlike some CD’s with a couple “great” songs you can’t get enough of, there is not one song on here that doesn’t leave you wanting to listen to over and over again. Keith is a fantastic songwriter!
