When it comes to down ’n’ dirty roots ’n’ roll, nobody in the
wide world of Americana music today does it better than
Ray Wylie Hubbard.
From his humble beginnings as an Oklahoma folkie in the ’60s to his wild ride
through the ’70s progressive country movement, and onward through the
honky-tonk fog of the ’80s to his sobriety-empowered comeback as a songwriter’s
songwriter in the ’90s, Hubbard was already a bonafide legend by the
time he really found his groove right at the turn of the century. Beginning with
2001’s aptly-titled Eternal and Lowdown through to his latest and greatest
release, 2015’s The Ruffian’s Misfortune, he has spent well over a decade
now chasing hellhounds through muddy waters and deep into the underbelly
of the blues, with a Lightnin’ Hopkins gleam in his eyes and a Rolling Stones
swagger in his step

Ray Wylie Hubbard... YOUR BAND "IS" "IS" "IS" HOTTER THAN A ROCKET !!!!! I LOVE THIS CD. I'm Crazy over Ray!!! I'm only a bit younger than Ray Wylie Hubbard, and just discovered him ... much to my delight. Both GROWL & SNAKE FARM have lyrics that make you "think", and a beat that is "a hint" behind in step and "hooks you" from the first second you hear it,as well as a gritty tone with unusual spacing of words, almost a "run on" sentence followed by one that is short clipped . All together this makes for a unique sound that is difficult to put in any category. Yes, blues, rock, and country folk, but more; something no one can match to the genius of RWH. I play these two CD's in my truck every day to and from work. I can't hear them enough, as they never get old. I've bought two other CD's of RWH's but they just don't have the same gritty sound and lyrics as SNAKEFARM And GROWL. They are too mellow and smooth to grab you. Ray...keep the sound you have in SNAKEFARM & GROWL coming, you bring so much happiness to our lives through your music and gifted wit. I hope to see you at a gig someday. Sylvia in Azle, Texas

Snake Farm is the greatest song in history. RWH needs to hold a political office.

A lot of miles traveled since the Pre-Dally Rallies- You may travel down the same roads but you never see the same scenery twice. The second, third, fourth,....... trips just keep getting better and better!

RWH and Delirium Tremolos is Cooler Than Hell. What a great CD. How powerful is Dust Of The Chase. Wish I had wrote that song. This is one of those CD's you keep in the seat of your truck and play ever week. RWH is like fine wine gets better with time.
