Texas singer/songwriter Shad Blair was born and raised on a cattle ranch southeast of Post, Texas, learning to play guitar and sing from his dad and older brothers. He wore out his parents' old country vinyl, spending the long Texas summers soaking up the music of Merle Haggard, Gene Watson, Johnny Cash, Bobby Helms, and Hank Williams. At age 14, Shad's father taught him to play "Fraulein" and soon after he began playing gigs, later working in the oilfields to put himself through college. Over the years, Shad has created a sound hardened by life experience and steeped in his influences including Willie Nelson, Townes Van Zandt, and Steve Earle, to name a few.
Shad's latest album, Sunday Blues, will be released in Fall 2008 and was produced by Mark Sarisky, a professor of Recording Technology at the University of Texas at Austin. Brannen Temple (drums), Mitch Watkins (guitar), Red Young (B3 organ), John Fremgen (bass), Carter Arrington (guitar), and Danny Levin (fiddle) helped create a textured and soulful sound in twelve songs that tell stories of betrayal, heartache, and revenge.
You can find Shad's music at LoneStarMusic.com, itunes.com, Waterloo Records in Austin, Texas, and at every live show he plays. Find Shad Blair online at www.myspace.com/shadblair or email at [email protected].

If you have never heard Shad Blair go hear him, and get his CD. "Red Fall" it is wonderful. He writes from the heart, and he has a great voice. I was privileged to hear him sing the one he wrote about his Dad. It brought me to tears, because anyone who has lost a loved one or has someone that is ill can relate to this song. Buy this cd you will not be disapointed.

Shad truely comes alive in "Redfall" with his artful blending of comtemporary and traditional Shad talent. One of the great Texas music artist...

I was able to check out Shad at Jake's a few weeks ago in Lubbock. I also picked up the album Red Falls. His song writing seems very honest. Not to mentioned a perfect Texas singer/songwriter voice. The album had a perfect mix of a somber joy. A few songs could be considered very Steve Earlish. Keep up the good work.

shad has a great voice for country music. Red Fall seems very personal as if every song is a part of his life. Great lyrics, great music, great artist.

I got the chance to see Shad at Hill's Cafe in Austin TX. You can always find good live bands there, but Shad just blew me away. His lyrics come from real experiences, he puts his heart into his songs and you can just hear it through the music. I bought a CD and a T-shirt that night. My favorite is "Do what I do", but they are all wonderful. I suggest you go see this up and coming artist soon.

Incredible album! I recently saw this artist at Hills Cafe in Austin after a friend kept ranting about how good this guy was. I was so impressed by the live performance that I bought the cd. I love it! The cd is incredible but the live show sounds even better. Next time he is in Austin I will definately be there! I personally don't even like country music that much but good song writing and singing rises above genre...
