I bought Garage and Purple at the same time. Only heard one song and bought these on a whim. See Garage for my review there, I listened to it first. This one wasn't as bad as Garage. Purple felt a little more honest. This is probably what the band is about but the songs really aren't that good either. However, Carry Me Home is a great song.

As Hayes Carll says about the Oklahoma state motto, "We're the OK state, we aren't great but we are ok", that pretty well sums up CCR. They aren't great but OK, much the same as Reckless Kelly. One thing CCR should never do is a cover of another song because they don't sound near as good as the original. Examples, Wanna Rock and Roll, Ray Wylie's is much better; This Time Around, Randy Rogers' is much better (yes I know Canada co-wrote with Rogers) even the Jerry Reed cover is inferior to the original. CCR's sound in general is a bit thin and tinny sounding. Not great, just OK.

A true cover to cover album a rarity from the Nashville crowd.

First I would like to say this is a really good cd. Not the best but damn good. And now for James. "I had brought her there on a Sunday, hopefully so we could sit IN talk in realative silence." What does THAT mean? Now I don't remember much about college and especially not English composition but that just makes no sense. How does one sit in talk? Now you can sit in shit, sit on shit, or even sit and shit but never have I sat in talk...Can't expect much enlightenment on music from someone who criticizes the words of others and writes like old James. Oh, and by the way...These guys rock!!!
