I just saw the video of "Gone, Gone, Gone" today, and it made me think...what's the point? It wasn't horrible, but it was definitely not the genre smashing collaboration they were apparently aiming for. I like Allison Krause, never thought much of Plant or Led Zeppelin one way or the other. It certainly isn't going to make me run out and buy any Zeppelin CD's, and I seriously doubt any Led Zeppelin fans are going to be popping Union Station into their CD players any time soon. The whole thing seems pointless to me, but pairing the rock star with the country crooner is kind of a trendy thing to do, so it'll probably garner critical acclaim and win some sort of award. Whatever, I'm out on it.
