Everybody is entitled to there opinion. I think this is a great cd. Just like the rest of Chris's work. I have yet to be disappointed. If you feel this cd might not be up to par. Maybe you need to stick your ear to the speaker cuz you are not listenin quite hard enough. There is meaning behind every song. Well, except for Danville I'm not real crazy about. I'm not gettin a whole lot out of that one. But the rest of them Chris has got sumpin to say. I think his songwriting is a rare style of writing that you have to read into a lot of times and you may not catch on the first time around. But give it a few more spins. I'm sure you will not be disappointed. Moral to the story "Tell Your Girlfriend To Shut Up For a Little While Cuz This Mans Got Something To Say". Keep it rockin Chris!!
It seems like every review of every CD on this website is generally positive....especially if the reviewer is fond of the artists past work.
I have been a long fan of Chris Knight, but feel that Heart of Stone is a disappointment. I have tried to give the CD chance after chance, but each time I feel that it just does not live up to his past work. The sound and feel of the CD is similar to Trailer Tapes, but the quality of writing just isnt interesting. Heart of Stone seems like it was slapped together at the last minute.

Chris did a great job with this one. Well produced and by the way, Chris is never boring! With the first listning I'm addicted. Another daaaaaay, another dollar, I can't get it out of my head, I think I'm going mad!! Six Stars!!

Chris Knight is the real deal. He is what the Nashville wannabe's want everyone to think they are. Title track is story of a son who is afraid he is becoming the kind of dissapointment of a man his father was. Same theme as the powerful William's Son from Enough Rope. Hell Aint Half Full is about justifying the compromises we make. Thanks God Chris Knight refuses to compromise. Great album. Do yourself a favor and buy it.
