Saw Charlie at The Ranch Bash, Ft Worth this summer, have liked his music for a long time. Keep on going Charlie, keep it coming...

I saw this "Nashville Sellout" at Gruene Hall last Saturday; he spent an hour signing cd's, hats, t-shirts, and anything else his fans wanted after the show in a no a/c dancehall that holds 300 people. The guy's no Nashville type. Don't be bitter cuz yer ugly; it only makes you ugly AND bitter.

Whoever says charlie robison is a nashville sellout needs to take their head out of their ass and look at his tour schedule. I saw him in Houston and I can tell you, he has absolutely stayed true to Texans alot more than many other artists.

Step Right Up
None of the songs on "Step Right Up" is as good as "My Hometown," "Loving County" or "Indianola." But taken as a whole, this album is top-notch Texas fare. "Right Man For the Job" demands a quick right-ward twist of the volume knob, and it stays consistently as good from there. The rendition of "Desperate Times" is excellent, "John O'Reilly" showcases Robison's storytelling talent, and anytime you get to hear Natalie Maines, it's a good thing. The closer, "Life of the Party," is a great yuk (but cover the kids' ears.) This album has some mainstream appeal, but shouldn't disappoint the true-to-Texas crowd in the least.

Simply one of the greatest pieces of music made in 2001...Nashville,I'm afraid, has no idea how bad it needs Robison and more grooves like "Right Man for the Job.." Listening to this is akin to watching Nirvana on MTV in 1992 and knowing the hair-bands,sooner or later, would be heading for the tall grass...Something else is coming, and this is just the tip of the iceberg.

i have no love for a sellout. if you dump your fans and run to nashville you're a dickhead. charlie robison qualifies for that title. nothing wrong with fame -- but definitely something wrong with selling out. charlie is a jackass

Other than Life of the Party and Unleashed, this is the best CD I've heard. Ever.
