Since 1980, The Texas Cafe and Bar has been serving up some of the finest BBQ and live music in west Texas. Now under new ownership, the BBQ remains excellent, and you can now get fresh homemade pizza to your liking. Of course there are drink specials every night of the week. You really need to try a Cherry Bomb! The food and drink have always been good at the Spoon, but so has the live music. From the early days with Joe Ely, Stevie Ray Vaughn, and Jimmie Dale Gilmore, to today with the Darren Welch Group, Elvis T. Busboy, and the Klifnotes, live music always has been and always will be number one on the menu. From local cover bands to national recording artists, you can always find a little bit of everything at the Spoon. Texas Blues is what the Spoon is all about, but from time to time you can also see anything from country to heavy metal. The Spoon is also home to the legendary Sunday night jam which was originally started by C.B. "Stubbs" Stubblefield and Jesse "Guitar" Taylor. The tradition continues today with musicians from all over west Texas coming to share their talents in front of an open mic. A small Texas roadhouse located in the heart of the city, The Texas Cafe and Bar have been entertaining folks for over 26 years, and now under new ownership and a focus on live music, you can count on another 26 years of quality entertainment. And be sure to visit the official Texas Cafe and Bar myspace site at www.myspace.com/texascafeandbar.
