From the earliest days of “Outlaw Music” in Austin, Texas, he was a regular at the Armadillo WorldHeadquarters, Saxon Pub and Threadgill’s. His music has been described as “Texas Roots” and “Americana” - with a voice described as “Lyle Lovett meets Gordon Lightfoot”. Not quite folk, not quite country - defined by fingerstyle acoustic guitar playing that rests nicely between James Taylor and Chet Atkins.

Over the years, Austin Ladd has played shows with some of the “greats” of what is now known as “Alternative Country” - from Texas Outlaws such as Willy Nelson, Jerry Jeff Walker, Merle Haggard, Joe Ely and Leon Russell to Pure Prairie League and The Byrds. Recent tours have added Sugarland and the Alt Country Rockers Cowboy Buddha to the list.

Solo, duo, trio or with full band, his edgy writing and intimate performances attract all ages.
