Canvas People is an indie-rock/indie-folk outfit based out of San Marcos, TX. Infusing traditional folk/rock-inspired songs with a blend of superb songwriting, tasteful guitar licks, and velvety three part harmonies, Canvas People produces an honest, humble, sophisticated sound. 

Inspired by local Austin bands, such as Sons of Fathers and Tessy Lou and the Shotgun Stars, the group consists of Kyle-Matthew Taylor on vocals/rhythm guitar, Wes Maxwell on lead guitar/backing vocals, and Luke Williams on bass guitar/backing vocals. 

All in search of pursuing musical careers in the Texas Hill Country’s well-known music scene, Taylor, Maxwell, and Williams all met at Cheatham Street Warehouse’s famous Wednesday night Songwriter’s Circle, and realized their common passions for pursuing a career in music. Upon meeting, the three started playing shows around the Texas Hill Country area at venues like Austin’s The Saxon Pub, San Marcos’s Cheatham Street Warehouse, and Spicewood’s Poodie’s Hilltop, thus establishing a local name for themselves. 

Canvas People currently has a 3-song EP available on iTunes, Spotify, and SoundCloud, entitled Canvas People EP, and are currently working on the completion of their very first full-length album, Sirens, set to be released in 2014.
