A refreshing new sound and style on the Texas music scene, Chris Miller bursts onto the circuit in Houston, Texas playing small clubs at the age of 15. Chris moved to Dallas in 1991 and had been playing bass and singing backup in honky tonks for various Top 40 Country bands. In late 2000, Chris started his own solo project that has been inspired by Texas honky tonk, Texas blues and other great artists! Chris can be seen playing in various forms. Whether he is playing solo acoustic, with the Chris Miller Trio, or the Chris Miller Band, the show is always filled with emotion and soul. Chris has shared stages with Texas greats such as Ray Benson, Stephanie Urbina Jones, Mark David Manders, Gary P. Nunn, Asleep at the Wheel, Max Stalling and pop sensations En Vogue.
In 2001, Chris released his debut CD, Singing for the Dogs. Later that year, True Value Hardware and 96.3 KSCS named Chris Best New Country Artist in DFW (2001). In summer of 2002, he released his second CD, Hey Now, which is an all-acoustic CD. With nearly 60 live appearances throughout Texas and the US in 2002 (including a tour in July), Chris shows no signs of slowing down. The New Year is no exception. The Chris Miller Band has completed Chris’ third CD 10 More Miles and released it on May 22nd, followed by a 14 show-15 day tour throughout the Gulf and East Coasts which received national press.
Chris definitely brings a pop and rocking side to his country. Chris writes passionately about what he knows and loves…his life, his family, and his home. With songs that you just can’t get out your head, Chris crosses over pop, country, and blues to create an unforgettable new blend of true music, true talent and true life!
