Three years after Dix Hat Band’s official formation, the determination is paying off and it has become a band to be reckoned with. Sharing the stage with the heroes of Texas music like Robert Earl Keen Jr., Pat Green, Jason Boland, Roger Creager, Bart Crow, Zane Williams, and Josh Abbot to name a few, the pipe dream of a career in music is becoming a reality. In the last year Dix Hat has played festivals like Outlaws and Legends, Waylon Fest, Spring Fest, Gator Fest, and Woody Stock, exposing more and more people to their truly new take on Texas music.

The heads began to turn on a statewide scale for the first time in the summer of 2014. At last breaching the surface of underground obscurity, the band officially released its first single “In and Out” after recording a radio version of the song originally featured on the EP “Cliff Dance.” The single had the highest debut into the top 100 on the Texas Regional Radio Report, made it into the 40’s and held its ground for several weeks before showing any signs of slowing down.  During the push for “In and Out” the guys were making final touches on the preproduction for the first full-length album “Red Dime” which will be released April 28th 2015.  This album is testament of the capacity of Dix Hat Band to make unprecedented music. The unique sound and musical innovation that has become a hallmark of the band continues to mature like a vine spreading tendrils into the sonic spectrum, which wrap themselves around multifarious musical ideas in the most unexpected of places. The unexpected is about the only thing you can expect when you listen to this record, other than listening to it again.
