"Allan and Mackenzie have crafted a 10-cut CD that showcases their
instrumental prowess, engaging vocals and Allan's lyrics. The CD also
puts the group's range on display. Part country, part folk, part
Tex-Mex and all Texas, the songs run the gamut from road tales
("Goin' to Mexico") to love songs with a beat ("Put Your Faith in
Love") to the funny side of love ("Tastes Like Chicken"). It's a
mixture that works...The disc sounds great." Jim Beal, San Antonio

Glenn Allan and Kim Mackenzie have been delighting audiences in Texas and beyond with their magical harmonies, superb musicianship and intelligent songwriting. They blend elements of folk, country, blues and border sounds to create music as diverse as the Texas landscape from which it is drawn. Switching instruments as effortlessly as they trade vocals, they weave a rich tapestry of sound on guitars, fiddle, and mandolin. Their harmonies and stage interplay have been likened to Gram Parsons and Emmylou Harris.
Their new album -- Paradise, Texas -- is a state of mind, of life, of love. The Tex-Mex accordion of Grammy-winning Flaco Jimenez, complemented by the solid, swinging bass lines of fellow Texas Tornadoes/Doug Sahm alumnus Jack Barber, defines the border sound. The instrumental prowess and perfectly matched voices of Glenn and Kim make this collection of memorable songs -- Paradise, Texas.
