The J&L Brothers Band formed a little over two years ago with one simple goal, to play great, original Texas music. Consisting of Brothers Jerad and Jason Laxson, and brothers Sam and Andrew Johnson, the band is quite literally a family. All four band members grew up in the south Texas town of Carrizo Springs where they have been playing music together sense their high school days. Their sound cannot simply be described as country or even rock, as it includes elements of funk, blues, and metal. Soon after their formation the band entered the studio to begin work on their first album, all the while they continued to write songs and tune their craft bringing their set to include over 2 hours of original music. The four brothers have been gigging throughout south Texas for little over a year now at various venues including Lucy’s, the Hog’s Pen, The Shade Tree Saloon, The Cove, the Triangle and others. The J&L Brothers recently competed in a battle of the bands at the Shade Tree Saloon and walked away victorious. The J&L Brothers, although lighthearted, are every serious about their act, they have invested countless hours and dollars into Live performances, CD’s, and Koozies simply because they love music, and love to play it.
