Randy Woodard Singer Songwriter

Born in Houston,Tx in 1955, received his first guitar for Christmas in the 4th grade. Started his first band in the 7th grade called the Electric Revolution, playing rock-n-roll music. He received a call from a friend with a country band in need of a sit in guitar player. After that gig the band leader handed him $50.00 , the rock-n-roll gigs paid $0.00. So he decided that country music was the direction he needed to take. Soon after, he started his own band. After his senior year, he went to the Hank Thompson School of Country Music in Claremore, Oklahoma.  At Roger’s State College he met Country Music Musicians from all over the United States. He came back to Texas in 1976. One weekend on a trip to San Marcos, Texas he stopped in a honky-tonk called Cheatham Street Warehouse. He ended up playing lead guitar for the owner of the honky-tonk Kent Finley and his band High Cotton Express.  The Austin music scene was just an infant, but it was not long until Austin became the Live Music Capital of the World.  He has continued to “gig” thru the years, writing songs, playing guitar and fiddle and entertaining folks.

You can catch “The Randy Woodard Band” in and around Austin,Texas and San Marcos, Texas.  The New CD release, “From Enchanted Rock to the Alamo”, offers great Texas songwriting along with super steel guitar and fiddle solos. Listening to his new CD you immediately know this is Real Texas Music. So come out and see the Randy Woodard Band or purchase his new CD “From Enchanted Rock to the Alamo”.
