Formed in the Spring of 2002 Robby Abel and The Gringo All-Stars are quickly becoming a major force in the Texas/Americana music scene. Their debut album "Turning Point" was released in early 2004 with great success. It contains twelve original tracks with crowd favorites "Five Shots" and "Going to Mexico" as well as a driving cover of Waylon Jenning's "Don't you think this outlaw bit's done got out of Hand". Blending many musical influences such as country, rock, blues, and folk give this band their unique and refreshing sound. Recently, the band has taken their high energy live show to venues like Adairs, The Blue Light, River Road Icehouse, Lakeside Tavern, Wormy Dog Saloon, and Coupland Dancehall and performed with other artists such as The Derailers, Randy Rogers, Brandon Ryhder, Matt Powell and many others. Robby and the rest of the band will continue to tour all over Texas, Oklahoma , and Louisana in support of thier debut CD as well as gearing up for production on their next album !

Five Shots is awesome: Robby is a genuis! I saw these guys at River Road Ice House with Micah Harris, and I was wondering the whole time why he was the opener. Robby was the star! I recommend going to see this band any chance that you get.

Top notch CD from a top notch group. It's about time Texas country-rock got some cajones again! Buy "Turning Point" and catch this group whenever you have the chance.

I love this CD. All of the songs are good. It is rare to get a CD and like all of the songs on it. It is worth the price. My favorite songs are Going To Mexico and Texas Voodoo.
