Texas singer/songwriter Shad Blair was born and raised on a cattle ranch southeast of Post, Texas, learning to play guitar and sing from his dad and older brothers. He wore out his parents' old country vinyl, spending the long Texas summers soaking up the music of Merle Haggard, Gene Watson, Johnny Cash, Bobby Helms, and Hank Williams. At age 14, Shad's father taught him to play "Fraulein" and soon after he began playing gigs, later working in the oilfields to put himself through college. Over the years, Shad has created a sound hardened by life experience and steeped in his influences including Willie Nelson, Townes Van Zandt, and Steve Earle, to name a few.
Shad's latest album, Sunday Blues, will be released in Fall 2008 and was produced by Mark Sarisky, a professor of Recording Technology at the University of Texas at Austin. Brannen Temple (drums), Mitch Watkins (guitar), Red Young (B3 organ), John Fremgen (bass), Carter Arrington (guitar), and Danny Levin (fiddle) helped create a textured and soulful sound in twelve songs that tell stories of betrayal, heartache, and revenge.
You can find Shad's music at LoneStarMusic.com, itunes.com, Waterloo Records in Austin, Texas, and at every live show he plays. Find Shad Blair online at www.myspace.com/shadblair or email at [email protected].

Once again Shad gives us an album full of honesty. Sunday Blues is an album that shows off a talented singer / songwriter. He really gives us a unique sound not seen in other Texas musicians. Those who have not heard or seen him are really missing out. Can't wait to see him live.

Shad's music is as real as the dirt under the fingernails of every working man that listens to it. Take a listen, you will likely relate to what he plays and sings on a very personal level. This guy is a superb musician, a natural storyteller, and one hell of a performer. Go see him live, he holds nothing back. He will bare his soul through his music. It doesn't matter if it's on stage in front of a crowd, or in some backyard with guys playing wooden guitars his music blows nashville away! Keep up the good work SFB!

Really nice down to earth guy. Music comes from the heart and tells a story unlike most of the music you hear on the radio. Best sounding pipeliner I've ever heard!!
