With the release of “Gravity” in March 2004, Stacy James has finally established herself as a leading contender for best all around female entertainer. With the album’s spectacular production and bold, captivating message, Stacy James is continuing to mesmerize crowds everywhere. From the start of her career as a young girl only 15 years of age, Stacy James has managed to convince critics, judges, families, and friends from all over the nation, that she has it all.
As a little girl dressing up and using a candle as her microphone to perform for her loving family, Stacy proved at an early age that she was a born performer, destined for her place on the stage. Her fame as a vocalist and dancer began when the opportunity arose for her to perform a lead role in her middle school’s singing group, “Pride.” Replacing a girl at the last minute who took ill, Stacy astonished the audience with her powerful, pure voice. The choir director, Julie Sheppard, summed up the event saying, “When Stacy opened her mouth and starting singing, the entire room went quiet and still. No one could believe that voice was coming out of that little body!” Stacy then began to sing all over the Ark-La-Tex area performing at everything from charity events, community gatherings, to churches and clubs.
Stacy’s next successful platform was in the pageants. She took her talent, determination, and confidence to the competitions at her young age of 15 years, and after winning Miss Texas High School 1997, went on to win the title of Miss Texas in 2001, and finally, finished as a semi-finalist in the Miss America Contest. She has since made over 375 appearances and performances as Miss Texas, and sang at such prestigious events as the 2002 Cotton Bowl, 2001 Texas Rangers Game, 2002 Houston Astros Game, and several NASCAR events in Ft. Worth, Texas.
Stacy James has also established herself as not only a talented, star-studded individual that commands the stage and the audience, but also as a down-to-earth, truly inspiring individual, whose influence touches all races, ages, and creeds. Stacy has dedicated her life to charity-work, specifically to the Alzheimer’s Association of Texarkana, Texas, whose chapter Stacy’s grandfather started. She has completed five cover CD’s, and has put on several Dinner Theaters and assisted numerous Golf Tournaments, through which all the proceeds raised from her performances and entertainment were donated to the Alzheimer’s Association. With these efforts, Stacy James has raised over $20,000 for Alzheimer’s.
Hitting the studio in 2003, Stacy James teamed up with S.M.A.R.T. Productions and producer Greg White, and began working on her first original album, “Gravity.” She surrounded herself with the best musicians and songwriters of the Four States area, and the finished result is truly astonishing. The album features a mixture of emotions and creative textures derived from such influences as Fiona Apple and Norah Jones, topped off with Stacy’s unique, earthy, raw, powerful voice cutting through the music to the mind and soul of each and every listener. With the completion of “Gravity”, Stacy James has added yet another chapter to her magnificent and inspiring career. This zealous, determined entertainer will positively continue to astonish audiences everywhere.
