Tommy Young has been one of the premier artists on the Hammond B-3 Organ for the last three decades. While many keyboardists sold out to smaller, digital keyboards, Tommy remained true to the big traditional sound of the Hammond B-3 Organ played through a Leslie speaker.. While other smaller, digital keyboards tried to emulate the real thing; nothing could synthesize the spellbinding sound of the big wooden wonder box, powered by electronic tubes. Tommy helped keep the B-3 alive. Hence, the "KEEPER OF THE B". Of course the B-3 weighs 450 pounds and the Leslie speakers weigh 150 pounds. Buying Organs, Leslies, trucks, and moving dollies became a way of life for this road warrior. Tommy recorded on many CD's over the years for artists such as Bugs Henderson, Andy Timmons and the Pawn Kings, The Forever Fabulous Chicken Hawks, The Stratoblasters, Nancy Harmon, and countless others. The new CD "KEEPER OF THE B" returns Tommy to his roots of rhythm and blues and jazz in the vein of Booker T. and Jimmy Smith. This type of music is timeless and so is the instrument. On this CD Tommy and his musical partners in crime send you directly into the real thing. Hold this in abeyance: Tommy Nash, Andy Timmons, and Willie Smith on guitar, Chuck Rainey and Mike Medina on bass, Ronnie Thomson and Mitch Marine on drums.
