One of the hottest Texas country acts on tour right now, Travis Mitchell has been racking up experiences rapid-fire: releasing two albums, hitting the road with all sorts of artists, including: Cross Canadian Ragweed, Randy Rogers, Jack Ingram, Cory Morrow, Sister Hazel, Miranda Lambert, Gary Allan, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and many more. With his tour sponsored by Bud Light, and working in the studio with Chris Henderson of 3 Doors Down on his last album, Travis Mitchell continues to pound the tour pavement. He is also hard at work on material for his eagerly-anticipated third album that is scheduled for release in the summer of 2009 on Aaron Ave Records. The band’s first album, “Forget What’s Wrong” was called, by the Dallas Morning News, “a disc full of potential… Touches of roots and classic rock dart in and out of the Texas roadhouse country style”. The four-piece, headed up by its namesake Travis Mitchell, headed down to Gautier, Mississippi to record their sophomore record with Grammy-nominated artist Chris Henderson of the popular rock band 3 Doors Down. The album, “Waiting On Tomorrow,” is (according to Mitchell) a “Nashville/Texas country mix. I feel like this is the first time I’ve found my voice and my sound.” And that sound is quite versatile, as evidenced by the mix of honky-tonk, ballads, and rock-infused alt-country peppering the new album. “Working with Chris Henderson was brilliant,” Mitchell continues. “I loved it. He was very real, and he let everyone express their ideas. We all worked really well together, and that helped some amazing ideas come out.” While his roots are planted firmly within Texas Country, his live performance is a mix of heart-pounding country with a rock flare that is unmistakable, and he looks to take it to wider audiences as he continues to tour and reach new fans. “I think the band has really matured live,” Mitchell says. “We carry ourselves better on stage, the songs themselves are more mature, and we always try to maintain a high energy level onstage for our fans.” In 2009, Mitchell signed with a new record label, Aaron Ave Records and is releasing his 3rd album, “One Step Ahead”. This will be Mitchell’s first album as a solo artist. “I am very excited about signing with the new label, and making a solo album in which I have 100% creative control, states Mitchell. “The label’s commitment has insured that this project will acheive it’s full potential and hopefully live up to all it’s expectations. I feel the record continues to show my growth as a country artist, and I’m truly excited about it’s release.”

I received an advance copy of this album and all I have to say is to watch out for these guys...A very diverse album with several radio worthy songs. I hope they release "Ever Again" soon. LOVE IT!!

Definately worth a second listen. Better live than the CD. The new music is more sophisticated which may not appeal to die hard Texas country but will have broader appeal long term. The lead does overpower the rest of the group but why cut down the tall trees?

I've seen this guy grow up and evolve into something amazing. His song and style can definitely be branded as Texas Music. If you haven't seen his show, make damn sure you get to one soon.

The music on this CD is okay. There's potential. The lead guitar gets a little overwhelming almost to the point that I forget that I'm listening to country music. They're a young band and still need to develope their style a little more. Some stuff is really country and some stuff is really rock. The country style is good, more fiddle and less electric guitar.

Huh?>
What a joke! The only good thing about this band is the the lead player. The songs and "singer" should be left behind for the sharks. I have heard enough about Lone Star Beer. The next person that drapes their cd with the Texas flag should be left with the singer of this "band"

I've seen these guys 3 times in concert and I just can't wait untill I get to see them again! They have an awesome style in music. Country with their own style of rock and roll! It's a kick ass experience to see them in concert. They put on probably the best concerts I've ever been to. And they are some of the coolest guys I've ever met. If you haven't checked them out then you REALLY REALLY need to.
