A native of the mountain and desert country of West Texas, W.C. Jameson now lives on his ranch in the Arkansas Ozarks. A man possessing numerous and varied experiences, Jameson has, at times, earned his living as a cowhand, rodeo performer (West Texas All Around Champion), lifeguard, radio announcer, musician, dockworker, college professor, boxer, kickboxer (once ranked second in the nation), and professional treasure and artifact hunter.
Three decades ago, Jameson turned his talents toward writing and has experienced numerous successes ever since. He is the author of 28 books, several of which have won awards, and is perhaps best known for his compelling series on America's lost mines and buried treasures. In addition, he has written a cookbook (with plans to write three more), a book on folk sayings, a book of poetry, and a controversial book about the outlaw, Billy the Kid.
Jameson has also authored over 200 magazine articles, and twice won the prestigious Stirrup Award presented by the Western Writers of America, Inc. for best magazine article. In addition, he is an award-winning syndicated newspaper columnist with over 1,200 columns.
A former President of the Western Writers of America, Inc., as well as President and member of the board of directors of two other prestigious professional writers organizations, Jameson currently serves the WWA as Awards Administrator.
As a speaker and entertainer for writers conferences, as well as for corporate, political, athletic, and college banquets, and poetry gatherings, Jameson remains in demand around the country, and has entertained from coast to coast and border to border.
