Newgrass Pioneer Sam Bush Has Advice For Young Pickers

A highly accomplished musician and performer, Sam Bush has been staggering audiences for decades with his blazing prowess on the mandolin and fiddle, as well as possessing a magnetizing stage presence.

Bush's long history of collaboration reads like a who's-who of traditional and progressive bluegrass artists: Emmylou Harris, Béla Fleck, Doc Watson, Tony Rice, Peter Rowan, Tim O'Brien, Jerry Douglas and many others. His equally lengthy list of accolades includes multiple Grammys, the 2009 Americana Music Association's Lifetime Achievement for Instrumentalist award, and unique titles such as “King of Newgrass” and “King of Telluride.” He was nominated at this year's Grammy Awards for Best Bluegrass Album for “Circles Around Me.”

Playing this Saturday at the Crystal Bay Casino Crown Room, Bush brings a mesmerizing energy and enthusiasm to the stage.
