Charlie's Live CD is the best damn thing to come along in a long time. Live CD's do not typically impress me but this one did. Maybe because it evoked so many great memories of his concerts. If you have not seen Charlie - see him. If you have not bought one of his CD's - buy this one.

Album Review
A high energized, explosive collection of Charlie's best songs performed LIVE at Gruene Hall. This CD truly captures a remarkable and intense performance with nice suprises in-between. Highly recomended!

I'll keep it short & sweet......."Good Neighbor" is probably one of Charlies best songs EVER! (and if you know his tunes, that is saying alot)

Big respect for Charlie Robison's new album `Step Right Up`. Although he often seems like a pissed-off version of Steve Earle (and the song `John O'Reilly` seems to be one of the best rip-offs of the SE song `Dixieland`) it's still a great album. Also, the songs `One In A Million` and `Life Of The Party` are also potential classics. Hopefully he'll follow Joe Ely and Steve Earle's example of using Nashville labels as a means to an end and not get too slick. Or maybe he'll just go the way that certain reviewers want on this forum and just write songs about tacos, beer, the Alamo, A&M, Austin, the Gulf of Mexico, more beer and more tacos. If this is what they think Texas music is, they deserve a lifetime ban from all TX music venues.

I went to see Charlie at Billy Bob's in Ft. Worth last week, and I have to say that it was far and away the BEST concert I have ever been to!! If you get a chance to see him live, RUN -- don't walk!!

Charlie Robinson opened for Pat Green at Stillwater's Calffry earlier this month. Being a fan of both performers I have to say Robinson's music is certainly better written and possibly better performed. I own the two newer studio CD's and have to say, outside Jason Boland, this is the best guy singing country today. Wow, can't wait for him to come back to the Weed....

Charlie Robison is one of the few good ol boys making new music today. He has the light heart sense of humor to do Life of the party and still have the talent to sing My hometown a song bout lifes struggles, not to mention the Desperate times, which says it all
