Charlie Robison
Artist Review
I think that this is a great CD and Charlie as always kicks ass. What alot of you don't seem to realize is that El Charrito Place and Big City Blues are writen by Keith Gattis. Charlie does a great job with the songs but if you like them you should check out Keiths album titled Big City Blues!

This CD is one of Charlie's best. With the same old catchy tunes and lyrics we have come to expect for Mr. Robison. I would recomend this CD to anyone looking for a good timin' CD.

We picked up Good Times at the CR concert in Kansas City. The CD is great. They played quite a few of the new songs at the show. If you like Charlie Robison at all, this is a must have CD. About the show. We have been long time fans of Charlie and his band but this was our first time ever to see them live. The venue in which they played was rather small and the crowd wasn't really that large (hundreds of people not thousands like at a Texas show) but boy were they enthusiastic! The crowd sang most of the songs right back to the band and I honestly think they were impressed. The show started right on time and lasted for probably a solid two hours? They played almost everything I've ever heard of and came back out for and encore as the crowd probably would have torn the house down if they didn't. This was one outstanding show. Our best concert experience ever! Even more impressive was how after the show, Charlie and the band hung around and talked with anyone who wanted to visit. I think Charlie signed autographs for almost two hours after the show. A few of the fans were rather wasted and probably visited a little longer than Charlie would have prefered, but he handled them so graciously and professionally. Everyone left feeling really good about CR and the Enablers. We probably visited with him for about five minutes and really enjoyed him. What a nice guy!

This is charlies best cd since Life of the Party. It had the same feel as Bandera but you could tell Charlie has matured as a songwriter and singer. I wish i could force everyone in the world to listen to this cd just once and they would then see why Charlie is the best thing to happen to Texas music since the godfater Robert Earl Keen. I also wish i could watch Charlie kick the hell out of sellout Pat Green. Do it Charlie. Pats a fat Ass.

Charlie gets 3 stars. I call his latest half full. You seem to be enjoying the first half which is pretty good and then it goes down hill from there. This artist can do better than he did on this one. C'mon Charlie, turn it around. Dont pull a Pat, we still need you. And $30 is too much for the show!

Charlie's new CD is bad ass. I like the fact that he does the songs that "he" wants to do..The writing is awesome and so is the message..

This cd is good. If your a fan, then it's a must. Charlie needs to watch out though. You can tell that he's starting to push outside the limits of this Texas genre. We don't need anymore sell outs. I know you folks on this site love that term. Just understand a sell out, you can have all the respect in the world for an artist. Once they change bands and stop writing their music and start charging a years salary to go see them, then it's over for most fans here. You keep respect for what they have done, but your not going to jump up and down and cheer for music you don't like. Eventually a lot of bands will go big and I can tell you what will happen. If they lose their Texas appeal, then people who like their new kind of music will buy and those who don't wont. Plain and simple, the majority of fans who view this site are here for Lone Star Music, not Nashville. The people who are into this scene know the difference. When a favorite goes huge, pick up one of the new and upcoming artist. There are many greats out there.

Good Times
Album Review
This is a great CD - probably one of CHarlie's best. Overall production seems to have matured a bit. Good mix of fun, up-temp songs with more mellow stuff. Charlie is certainly an honorary Lone Star music man!
