Josh, it sounds like you haven't been to Oklahoma in awhile, if ever. The mullet is alive and well in the Sooner State. Vinny doesn't sport one, but mullets are plentiful here. Vinny wishes Scott Hall woulda stayed true to his roots and kept the mullet. At least Marty Stuart still keeps it real.

If you were...then possibly you were my dancing partner smiling the whole time you were on the dance floor because the music and the lyrics were hot,country and fun. It is the year 2006. Who would wear a mullet, Vinny? Or are you trying to give us a good chuckle? Give the guy a break and don't be a "MULLET" by bringing up the past. The review is about TODAY, what it is now and talent. I thought Scott sounded good Friday night and has a strong "George Straight" voice. The venue was not the greatest for Linville's talent, however, Scott and his band picked up the pace and did a great job singing some country music that allowed for some dancing. I scooted around the floor several times and the variety was qutie nice. I'd go hear him again. You know,Pat Green started somewhere..they all did. I think Scott has what it takes to be a good singer as long as he keeps his band and his focus. It was a fun night.

Wow...I am amazed at the difference of my opinion in comparison to this Andrew guy who sounds like he has a personal vendetta against Scott. For someone who claims to not know or ever heard of Scott before, Andrew sounds quite bitter toward a guy that took the stage and was surrounded by people dancing, clapping and even singing along with his songs. Scott couldn't have been that "horrible" for the crowd to interact with him. Shame on you Andrew for your envy and rude attacks on Scott. Sounds like Vinny even agrees that Scott has talent and recognizes that Scott's passion for music is what has brought him back. I personally thought Scott's voice was amazing and of much talent. I, honestly had never heard him sing and was quite impressed. He showed passion in his singing and you could feel the music as well as dance to it. When I go to a country bar, which is not often, I like to dance. Though my understanding is that acoustic music shows talent, it is not easy to dance to. With acoustic music opening and the crowd wanting to dance, how do you expect to retain a crowd who is seeking music to dance to. I believe that is what eliminated the audience prior to Scott getting on stage. That is not playing down Linville's act...just stating the facts of what sends a couple to the dance floor...that is good country music and that is what we enjoyed when Scott took the stage. Too bad for the ones who left prior to Scott's show because he really is a good singer and his band is awesome! I am recommending his band at a local venue that is in my area and I sure would NOT do that if I thought he did not have talent because I know my opinion is valued in my community. With that said...Keep pursueing your dream Scott and do not let envious people get in your way...there will always be those who try to pull you down especially when they see a glass that is half empty. You have what it takes...Keep looking forward.

Vinny can't believe Scott Hall left the life of a WCW/WWF superstar for being a starving country musician playing honky tonks in West Texas. It was widely known that he had a drinking problem, but Vinny didn't realize it was this bad. Although he rose to stardom when he was a tag team champion with Big Sexy, he was never the same after he ended his Razor Ramon gig. Look at the guy, he even cut his mullet off. Sad to see a great athlete hit rock bottom like this.

I was also at the Horseman Club last Friday night and I think Andrew was obviously a big fan of Travis Linville and took out his disappointment over Travis' reception at the Horseman on Scott. Linville put on an exceptional acoustic performance and he is a talented singer, but it was the wrong kind of opening act for the type of venue. I have seen Scott play live several times and he always puts on a good show, but this one was excellent. He had a good mix of original music and tunes to please the audience. Scott & the guys in the band did a great job and the crowd who from what I saw by the people sitting near me got their money's worth. Real Texas Music is all different kinds of music. It's a shame we can't appreciate the one without slamming the other.

I'm reviewing Scott here, not his CD. I went to the Horseman Club in Fort Worth this past weekend and Scott Hall was playing. I had never heard of him before, but he seemed to play at that location alot. After an amazing opening act from Travis Linville (which was obviously lost on the crowd), Scott Hall took the stage. His band sounded good, but lacked anything to set them apart as special or unique. Scott himself was horrible! His vocals were often lacking, and his songs sounded all sounded the same to me. There's only so many love balads you can play in a row before people that are actually listening to the music get tired of it. Apparently though he hit a chord with the crowd who had previously been hooting and hollering to "Honky Tonk Badonkadonk" so I guess some urban cowboy out there liked it. His songs all lacked depth and inspiration that makes some of these other Texas musicians so wonderful to see. Scott never got into his performance and really never showed the crowd a personal touch on his music. It looked like a grown up karaoke night with a decent band. I also thought Scotts ability to play the guitar was seriously lacking! He never seemed comfortable playing the guitar and often just stood there while the band played most of the song. All in all, Scott Hall just wasn't for me, but I believe that most true lovers of the independant music that runs through the veins of Texas would have a hard time finding any substance in Scotts music or one of his performances.

How great to see Scott's music on your site. Two Loves Too Late is my alltime favorite. I have all his CDs, but have to hide them because people will steal them! I hope you will have more of his music to buy.

I have been a fan of Scott's for many years and am thrilled to see that his new website is showcasing his talent in such a classy way. I introduce all of my friends to Scott's music and they are now big fans as well.
