This is the one I'd take if I was stranded on an island. Pure genius!

The best band to ever come out of Dallas. Apparently taking a break right now, at least I hope it's just a break and not the end of the old 97s. They made it before this big Texas music explosion, and they really showed what hard work could do for a band.

Do yourself a favor. If you like your alt.country with a little kick to it, try one of their CDs. You will end up buying them all. Old 97's are the real deal. Their earlier CDs are more country and the newer ones (Fight Songs, Satellite Rides) are more alt. And they all rock.

Old 97s rock. Each album is vastly different and absolutely amazing. If you like alternative country, you will love Old 97s. You can hear them grow in every album they put out. Enjoy
