What a great job on the new album. Key to the Highway is such a great song. Thanks for all the great music Houston.Sorry to hear about your J-45
This is an outstanding CD from an underappreciated artist. By far, his best work. Very easy to listen to.
Hey Houston see ya at Cheatham Street on 4-22-06
Wish They would play more of him on the range again
This CD is well produced and also brings out the deep Texas roots of this artist. It will probally be appreciated more by those who live or are from Texas or the southwest. In any case, this is a fine piece of work, by anybody's standards.
When I saw Houston Marchman in concert I had never heard of him. His concert was excellent and he took the time to come up to us after the concert and talk for a while. I cant wait until he comes back to College Station
The best independent artist arround.
Saw him at the White Elephant a few months ago. When he played he was good, but he spent too much time talking. At the start he was on stage for I bet 5 minutes telling a story before he played a single note. Play a couple of songs and then tell a story.
I am looking forward to getting a copy of this CD. I had the previlege of being at the Iron Horse the night Houston recorded this CD, and usually when people are recording live CD's they tend to be, "not genuine" not Houston. I have never had an artist come up to me, and shake my hand and tell me "Thanks for coming tonight, I really appreciate ya'll." I didn't go up to him, mind you, he saw us at one of the front tables during the concert and found us afterwards and said that. Houston is a true "Texas" artist and good guy.
Undoubtedly one of the most overlooked singer songwriters in Texas. Houston has been writing and singing his own songs for many years. You might know him for his anti Nashville anthem "VietNashville". Houston may not fill the dancehalls like the other artists but he still plays like there are 10000 people in the crowd. Live and Still Standing is his second CD that is "Live" The first one is so popular that he is sold out of it. "Live and Still Standing" has 12 cuts with his standard songs and some of his newest songs, Suzanne (named after his wife), Divorcees, and Not Tonight. You'll recognize the rest of the songs, if you've ever been to a Houston show. Still after all these years, Houston gives 100% to his fans, this one is not different.
Great written songs by a true artist. Get a copy and take a listen.
