Great sound! Love the lyrics on Long Night in Galveston and several other songs. I'm really impressed with the potential these guys show.

Grew up in Texas and came to Californ-i-a to be a star. But, music like Kenefick's Hard Road helps me to remember my roots. This CD came to me through a friend, promising it was something special. In my musical world, “special” is usually limited to the next electronic manifestation from Europe or trip-hop from the belly of LA. However, the moment I fed my car’s CD player with this, I felt the city drain away and my memories of those long country roads and open highways overtake me. I could see that Big Ol’ Texas Sky right though the smog! That’s when I knew this WAS special. It takes special music to transport you and that’s exactly what the Hard Road does. There are so many great songs with influences from the Eagles, JD Souther, ABBA (just kidding), and I love, love, LOVE the use of that ol’ “Rolling Stones” organ. Marty Wells’ voice takes the songs somewhere I’ve never quite heard in country music and Quintin Watts’ voice keeps it familiar. Looks like other reviewers are picking up on my favorites, too. Long Night in Galveston, Hard Road and Texas Sky are just wonderful and would light up the phone lines at any radio station. Hell, if they’d play THIS kind of music out here on the Left Coast, I might put my cowboy boots back on!

Wanted to give my 2 cents on the review of this band. Personally I think the album is outstanding. The songs are good'ol boy Texas music that has that darkness that the ladies admire in us cowboys. Long Night In Galveston is one of my favorites and I can definitely see Hardroad being used in a movie. You know an albums good when you wake up humming to the tunes of Kenefick! I want more!

4 stars on a freshman debut is awesome. They may be onto something big. These songs are original and catchy. The lead guitarist has got his chops down for sure. Kenefick displays a good mix of sounds and influences all over this record. I listened on recommendation from a friend and will definitely check out the live show now. THE DOG SAYS GO BUY THIS ALBUM!!!

I have been through the town of Kenefick, TX and there's not much to look at, in fact the place pretty much sucks but this band is good and their music is sweet to listen to. Why they chose to name themselves after such a poe-dunk hole in the wall I'll never know.
