2 bad we can't give negative stars to someone. Since the HLSR when Jack was totally disrepectful to the families that were there I have had no use for him. I will NOT listen to his music or attend somewhere where he is playing. I still am making sure I spread the word to not support this man..HE IS AWEFUL!

Jack Ingram is no Pat Green, he has more tour dates in Texas than Pat Green does. He still stays true to Texas than Pat Green does.

Jack is view as being a sellout by some because part of being a Texas Music artist is writing your own songs, which part of This Is IT are his songs, half aren’t. And the ones that are his songs were written 5 years ago. That is partly why going to Nashville makes people annoyed because of this premium of writing you own song or at least borrowing within the brotherhood of Texas music. And I‘ve loved all of jack’s previous albums, but even trying to look at it objectively, this one is different. I myself just don’t like the songs. The songs I do like tend to have horrible cuts on the CD such as Make A Wish. I used to have an acoustic version of it and if I only knew it from this CD then I probably would be as interested in it as I am. And man of the Texas Artist that you mentioned going to Nashville left because their music was a failure such as Willie Nelson, Waylon(although a huge chunk of why he left was because he didn’t like the politics), Guy Clark, and others. I don’t think anyone would ever say that George Strait is a Texas Music artist, he’s just an artist from Texas that makes music. And George got his start from Cheatham Street before a producer saw a show and wanted him. He never wrote Texas Music songs although he did write some, many of his earlier songs were covers from out of this state including one that helped launch him, Amarillo By Morning. So Jack is a great person, you can’t argue that, but being a great person does not make you a great artist. Jack is falling away from his status as a Texas Music artist because he’s covering other peoples work. I mean give me a team from Nashville and I can make a top 100 record. Maybe his next record will be better, maybe he’ll write more. Maybe he’ll become another Nashville artist from Texas.

Question? What is about success that makes Texas music fans so mad?. I've watched this go on for years and can't make since of it. I am huge fan of integrity driven artist. But I don't understand why success always equals sell out music in the minds of Texas music fans. Most artist that give in to that mentality never leave Texas and spend there whole careers playing in half empty bars in Austin ,overdose and or disappear never to be missed. I think we've made the mistake of assuming anything tied to a big record company has to suck. So In turn we support some embarrassingly bad music in the name of non-commercial alt Texas music. And instead of embracing the guys who have a real shot of getting Texas music past the Oklahoma border. [Real record sale numbers and concert sales outside of Texas] we run them out of Texas. [SteveEarle, Guy Clark, Townes Van Zant, Delbert McClinton, Leroy Parnell, Walon Jennings, and growing list songwriters and artist from Texas . Are all living in Nashville because they had to reach for something more than Gruene Hall [I love Gruene Hall] Even Willie, Lyle Lovett, George Jones and George Straight went to Nashville and got there start with Big Record companies.Who knows? Maybe if he breaks it open at top 40 country he'll make us proud with some cool records. The same way so many Texas artists have. God forbid a home town boy go to Nashville and make good. Peace out!!!!

Jack is as much on his game as ever! I had the pleasure of seeing him twice in the past two months and he still works the same magic in his live shows as ever. He is the picture of an entertainer, giving his all in every performance and totally in charge of that stage, as he always has been. And the best part of Jack's live performance is the certainty that he will be waiting to sign autographs way into the night until the last fan is satisfied. His show at the River Road Ice House was raucous and intense, a classic Jack night!
