I discovered Brian Burns this summer. I have the Snakes and Eagles CD and the Heavy Weather CD. I love them both. What a wonderful Texas artist that seems to understand Texas and Texans. I very seldom buy multiple CD's from the same artist, but all the songs on all the Brian Burns CD's are great. I have made it a hobby to find all the Brian Burns CD's.

Sadly it took me listneing to XM radio to discover Brian Burns, and not local radio stations back home, outside of Corpus Christi, Texas. But having heard Mr. Burns, I am definantly a fan. What a voice, what talent, and what a way of telling stories. Brian's talent could well rival some of the story telling greats such as Marty Robbins, and Tom T Hall. Keep up the great work!!! (A little side note, thanks to XM for introducing me to Mr Burns.)

I am listening to the Wreck of the Edmond Fitzgerald by Brian Burns. I live <10 miles from Lake Superior. I've heard this song by Gordon Lightfoot, but since I now have XM Radio, a 2nd version with the names at the end is so much better. I caught the tailend of an interview with Brian, & I think he wrote this bone chilling song. I have a relative that lived just west of Sault Ste Marie, Michigan close to where the iron ore freigher went down. He says that night of the sinking, he could lean forward on a 45 degree angle towards Lake Superior and not fall over! In the upper peninsula of Michigan (the U.P.)our lives are involved with the iron ore mining. I look out the window at work and see the oreboats coming in and out of the Marquette oredocks. It's amazing to see! Brian mentioned visiting Duluth, Minn. in the interview. The Great Lakes are amazing. Growing up on Lake Superior, one takes them for granted, but as I mature, I don't anymore. Artist Review
I heard of Brian for the first time on XM Channel 10. Out of curiosity, I started searching the internet and found his corner in myspace which has a few of his songs. By far, Brian Burns is one of the most original artists out there today. Why Nashville hasn't grabbed him is beyond me and it says something for the corporations up there. Brian Burns is most definitely modern country music in it's finest form. I would recommend him to anyone with the slightest bit of good taste in music.

I have known Brian for several years now, first as the music booker for Snuffy's in Hutto Texas, and now as the owner of Snuffys. I first heard the Eagle and the Snake from a promo pack Brian sent to me. I took one listen to the first song, called the number and booked him to play. That one gig has since turned into a regular first Friday of the month gig for him, and I have been listening to Border Radio the way it was writted and the way it should be played- Live and Acoustic. Brian is truly one of the most gifted singer-songwriters I have ever heard, much less had the pleasure to know. I own all of Brians CD's, and, after tonite (10/06/06) I will have Border Radio (all of them signed, by the way). If you buy just one CD this year, do yourself a favor and buy Border Radio.
