On the banks of Town Lake, just west of the First Street Bridge, lies a place bustling with activity. Auditorium Shores is an outdoor concert venue with an especially busy summer schedule, a place to catch the fireworks on the Fourth of July and the hub of Austin's most popular hike-and-bike trail. If these activities leave you uninspired, you can always bring a blanket and bask in the sun or take a leisurely stroll along the shores of Town Lake. A statue of Austin's favorite lost son, Stevie Ray Vaughan, the legendary guitarist who died in a 1990 helicopter crash, stands just west of the main parking lot.
