WEEdEN began when Alex decided to perform and record on his own. After moving to Austin, TX in 1996 and performing in various bands, he had become a staple in the local music scene. It was time to go on his own and record a record of his own.
Then along came Nina Singh and Mark Addison. Addison and Singh were recording, producing and more often than not performing with other artists such as: Ian Moore, Dewato, Jeff Klein, Matt McCormack and Will Sexton.
After hearing these sounds, Alex then knew where to make his debut record. Six months later, following a significant amount of hard work by Alex, Nina, and Mark, the 10-song compilation WEEdEN - ORANGE WHIP? (Hedgehog Records) was released to critical accolades.
It was now time for a live band.
Alex put a group together consisting of the powerful and excellently metered drummer Bryan Breaux and multi-instrumentalist and talented musician Chris Kline on organ, guitar, vocals, etc., who had also performed on the album, Orange Whip? For bass duties Alex brought in fellow Honeybrowne member and friend Jake Blackwell.
The outcome is that the band sounds just like the record. No gimmicks, just pop/ rock with a slight roots-rock twist. Alex states to someone who hasn't heard Orange Whip? or seen WEEdEN live, "We're a mix of all our musical influences, Petty, Beatles Floyd Stones etc… all rolled into one."
The album is getting great reviews and the band is frequently playing live gigs to support it.
