Take plenty of heartache, two near death experiences, a whole lotta backroadin therapy, a couple of bar scars, the perfect farmer's tan, combine it with meaningful lyrics, a soulful voice, solid guitar work and you've got Bill Rice, Texas country music artist from Austin, Texas.

Rice's debut album, I'd Do It All Again, captured the attention of Texas radio and country music fans by boasting 3 hit singles on The Texas Music Chart. That is quite a feat for a debut album from a promising new artist. The debut album was recorded by Ken Tondre, of Kevin Fowler fame.

After releasing his debut album in 2008, Bill Rice hit the road touring to promoting his new album and to gain country fans across Texas. Rice has performed with most of the great names in Texas country music, including: Randy Rogers, Wade Bowen, Cory Morrow, Kevin Fowler, Roger Creager, Charlie Robison, Jason Boland, Stoney Larue, Monte Montgomery and others.

Kevin Fowler said it best when he was asked about Bill Rice's debut CD, Bill's record is top notch! His songs are great and his voice is as soulful as you will hear. The great production on this record adds to the high quality he was goin' for. I'd Do It All Again is as good a debut album as you will find in my opinion.

In 2009, Rice returned to the studio to start work on his 2nd CD. The new album was recorded by Bill's longtime friend, Roger Blevins Jr., of Mingo Fishtrap. Mingo Fishtrap has been a staple in the soul music scene for over 15 years. The new CD entitled, Long Hard Ride is now in stores. "Long Hard Ride" once again, captures the soulful and powerful voice that made Bill Rice's debut album such a success..

The year 2010 will spring Bill Rice to major heights. With his debut album from 2008 getting highly acclaimed reviews from the music industry, and with the release of his second CD on Aaron Avenue Records, Rice is destined to finally receive the recognition that becomes him.

Bill Rice was born and raised in rural Oklahoma. After high school, he attended Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Oklahoma. He worked as a bouncer at the world famous Tumbleweed Dancehall, where he got to meet some of his country music idols. The time spent working at the venue had a profound effect on his decision to withdraw from college just shy of having his college degree, to pursue his dream of being a country musician.

Bill Rice is the real deal. He writes his own music, and writes about the life he has lived, and music that his fans can relate to. He has obtained everything the good old fashion way,......... by working very hard. Nothing was handed to Bill, he did it with hard work and determination. His hard work and dedication to country music shines thru in his music.

His unique musical style blends the sounds of americana, southern rock and country. Some of his musical influences include: Chris Knight, Merle Haggard, Walt Wilkins, Jimmy Lafave, Monte Montgomery, Keith Urban, John Cougar and Allman Brothers.

As a member of the USO family, and being heavily involved in concerts for troops and their families, in April 2011 Bill Rice is headed to Iraq with the USO for a month to entertain the heroes serving our country.

Bill Rice, the next talented country artist coming from the great State of Texas.

Bill Rice is a great singer songwriter. I was just browsing bands on myspace one day and I came across his page. After hearing just a few minutes of his music I went strait to ITunes and purchased the entire album. This is my new favorite Texas band, I would recommend this artist to anyone!
