A proud son of Waco, Carter has been playing the music game for several years. He played lead guitar in Stargunn with Shooter Jennings. When that group disbanded, Carter began writing songs and playing low-key shows throughout the Southwest. The work of Steve Earle and Waylon Jennings inspired his early, introspective work as. By the time he entered the studio to record his debut, Carter’s repertoire had grown to include free-spirited material reminiscent of Hank Williams Jr. and Charlie Robison. If It Ain’t One Thing sounds at once both familiar and refreshing. Whether expressing a restless outlaw attitude on “I Can’t Wait” or the weary lament of “Tattoos and Scars,” Carter has recorded an album for all moods. Several old friends helped Carter make this great album. Shooter Jennings sings on both the title track and “Long Gone”; these songs recall Willie and Waylon’s rollicking records. Lucy Walsh, the daughter of Eagles gunslinger Joe, sings wonderfully on “Move Along.” Audioslave’s Tom Morello wrote “Union Song” especially for Carter. The playing is loose and relaxed, perfectly capturing Carter’s easy-going nature. Carter grew up in Waco, Texas listening to bands like The Ramones, Willie Nelson, ZZ Top and Hank Jr. It would be impossible to name all the influences that are reflected in his music. But it is safe to say that good friends, good stories, real life and cold beer are among the biggest. Anyway, skipping all the bullshit... If you like good songs that tell real stories that you won't be hearing on MTV, you'll probably like Carter Falco.

This is a great album that never stops! It's not like a whole CD with the same chords and beats, instead it's like a journey you take with Carter experiencing a variety of sounds and rhythms. Shooter Jennings adds to the CD too and it really seems like the two are just jammin'. Love it!

If you like Shooter Jennings, Wade Bowen, Brandon Rhyder, even ol' Bleu, you should check out Carter Falco. Has a sound that makes you want to keep listening and wanting more after it's done. Bought the CD from a recommendation and am glad I did! Hope to hear more from him soon!

My wife introduced me to Cater Falco... If you like the Texas country artists, you will like his music. I was blown away by the lyrics and rythyms. It's just awesome. You have to listen. He sounded like Ray Wiley Hubbard inspired by Cooder Graw. This guy is going to be the next Cory Morrow... GO Carter!
