Born in Liberty, Texas, in 1958, Charlie was pretty much on the go, moving more than 20 times in 24 months. He finally settled in his mother's and grandparents' hometown of Danbury, Texas. Charlie has loved and played music most of his life, starting with Mrs. McFadden’s piano lessons at age 6. Somewhat bored with the Nashville stuff at an early age, Charlie's early influences were Bob Wills, Waylon Jennings, Crosby, Stills, Nash, & Young, Rusty Weir, Jerry Jeff Walker, Guy Clark, Rodney Crowell and many more. Inspired by writers who have something to say, Charlie started writing songs at the age of 14 and has written over 50 songs from 'Tastes Like Chicken' which will make anyone chuckle, to his touching ballads, and his foot stomping sing-a-longs. Charlie's deep and gravelly voice will touch your heart. Charlie tries, as he says, to paint as good of a 3 minute picture as anyone. Charlie has played with, shared a stage with or opened with the likes of, Bobby Rambo, John Evans, Big John Mills, Freddy “Steady” Krc, B.B.Watson, Kim Carson, Bodie Powell, Wade Hatton, Amos Staggs, Walt Wilkins, John M .Greenberg, Robyn Ludwig, Matt Harlan, Kyle Redd, Dan Crump, Robin Goodson, Susan Gibson, Ryan James, Davin James, Bart Crow, Jed & Kelley, T~Roy Miller, Steve Tenpenny, Thomas Michael Riley, Mike Blakely, Brett Watts, Damon Carroll. Charlie has played in venues from California to Alabama, from Virginia to Kansas, Mexico, and in the east coast.
