Them boys can pick!!” Paula Nelson has been “Under the Influence” of Music Legends her entire life. Learning to play piano at the age of 7, (taught by her aunt Bobbi Nelson) she has quietly been writing, singing and performing for most of her 41 years. Paula has recorded and released 4 records to date with mostly original songs written by her. “Under the Influence” is a project dedicated to the Legends that she grew up with, real life friends and family that she spent time with, learned from and made music with. “Jackson” is the first single from this project. Paula has been performing “Jackson” in front of enthusiastic audiences for several years and of course, Johnny & June were a big part of her early childhood years. Jackson is a perfect introduction to Paula’s sassy, fun loving personality. “Under the Influence” will feature cover songs from several of her influences including Kris Kristofferson, Waylon Jennings, Roger Miller, Leon Russell, Jesse Colter, Billy Joe Shaver, and of course, her father, Willie Nelson. Paula will release a series of singles thru out the year with the final album and DVD (with live interviews/road tours/studio sessions) being released in it’s entirety by December 2011.
