They are not related to each other. They are not a pre-arranged group. They are not session players. They did not meet at a writing appointment set up by executives sporting spray-on tans and wearing their shirts unbuttoned to their belly buttons. Quite the contrary, in fact. Midnight River Choir is one of the most organically grown bands traveling the highways these days. Drawn together out of mutual respect for each others’ talents and the common thread of passion for creating soulful music (and the Guadalupe River) they have established themselves as a “must see” in markets across the United States. Their last album, Welcome to Delirium, was released in 2011 to grand reviews and set precedence for their albums to come. Since its release they have traveled thousands of miles, both literally and figuratively. With their personal and professional lives evolving at break neck speed, MRC is slowing down just long enough to jump back in the studio this summer then they’ll be back on the road, business as usual.
