The Zach Huckabee Band might be one of the most entergetic three piece bands in the Texas Music scene. Based out of Lampasas, TX, Zach Huckabee has been professionally singing and writing songs since he was 18. During his freshman year of college, Zach went on the road with The Smithsonian Museum of American History singing the soundtrack for a mission that took him and the crew across the nation promoting troop service from all of the wars and conflicts that the United States has been involved in. The exhibit that documents this tour is located in Washington D.C. and is called the “Price of Freedom”, which also happens to be the title of the song that gained Zach access on the tour. You can see that music video at zachhuckabee.com. His first record with the three-piece Zach Huckabee Band, entitled Tequila Angel, made its debut in 2007 and spent over 20 weeks on the Texas Music Chart with their single “Can’t Stop the Rain”. In June of 2007, Zach married his long time girlfriend Krysta Hazel. When asked if Zach and Krysta were high school sweethearts, Zach says, “I hated my wife in high school,” he laughs, “but she grew on me.” The band’s new project, due out July 31, 2009, is entitled Was It You?. The album was produced by Texas singer/songwriter, Phil Pritchett.

This boy's not there yet. He's got a fairly good voice, although he needs to develop it some more. His songwriting is still on the amateur side. This disc can be painful at quite a few places. He'll have to keep working hard, but there's SOME promise there.

I have known Zach for about five years. I have been able to sit around and pic with him(though he did most of the pickin'). If you have not heard him play, you have missed out on one of the best guitar players in all of central texas. His song writing ability matches his abilty on guitar. The difference in his vioce from his first album to his second is amazing. The lessons have definatley helped. So come on down to Lampasas and hear some great texas country.

We got to see Zack and his Honky Tonk Roadshow put on a super good 4th of July performance at Lake Buchanan. It was a very enjoyable evening and we will definitely go to see him perform again.

With a great voice, this solid Texas songwriter should be big. For his debut you get a sneek peek at the talent this young fella has. His talent seems effortless, and he's smooth, yet gritty. Think of a cross between early Pat Green, and Roger Creager. Recomended for sure.
